I have noticed this a few times. T-bird says it is downloading 5 emails and there are only 2 in my inbox. This AM it did the same thing but I was there. It said there were 4 but only one showed up. I looked in all the other folders and didn't find the other emails. I saw who one was from and it was not there. What happens? I did have some internet connection problems this AM, my connection got disrupted. Maybe this was the reason. But I looked online to my webmail account and they were not there so they must have been considered as sent by the webmail. Why didn't they arrive? Thanks

Emails can get downloaded and put in the Junk folder if thought to possibly be spam/junk.

If you have any Message Filters working then they may have acted upon those downloads. Check your filter log.

Check you are viewing all folders and all messages. 'Menu icon' > 'Folders' > select 'All' 'Menu icon' > 'View > 'Messages ' > select 'All'

If you have 'Threads' enabled then it is possible an email could be hiding within a thread. options:

  1. Expand all threads and scroll through list
  2. disable the threading
  3. select folder and click on the QuickFilter Bar option to 'View only unread messages'. Click on that icon again to revert.
  4. Use the option 'Menu icon' > 'Folders' > select 'Unread', to show folders containing only unread emails.
