Email has been hacked

Now I note that any email sent to me goes straight to deleted items. How can I resolve or fix this PLEASE? I cannot get any support from anywhere

Hi Terence,
This is a duplicate of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1479277.
Please don't post duplicate inquiries.
I responded to you the first time. Did you contact Sky?
Rick
Hi Rick I cant quite believe your non supportive tone.
Sky are saying I should contact you!!??
They say which seems to make sense is that although I have a sky email address, it is you as my email provider that should know where your email preferences should be found in Settings and how to assist me.
Please pass me on to someone that can assist. If its not your company
regards Terence
To be clear, Thunderbird is NOT your email provider. Also, we are volunteers here and posting multiple times causes confusion. This is a peer-to-peer forum where courtesy is expected on both sides. I encourage you to check the account online to see how messages are being received. If they are going to trash there, then that process is happening prior to Thunderbird seeing the messages.
There is nothing unsupportive in my tone or substance. I am trying to help you.
If your address book (and apparently your e-mail account, if that is where the scam messages are coming from) was hacked, there is nothing that anyone associated with Mozilla or Thunderbird or this community support forum can do about it. You must work with your e-mail provider.
Mozilla and Thunderbird are not e-mail providers. Sky seems to be your e-mail provider.
I cannot pass you on to anyone. This is a forum where users support each other. I am a user, not an employee.
What would you like to accomplish with settings in Thunderbird? Something to do with your address book? Something to do with scam messages? Do you have reason to believe that your messages are being moved because of settings? Do you use mail filters?

Your email provider is the one after the @ in your email address, in this case it is sky.com
There are two ways you can view your email. You can use a email client (like Thunderbird) to view your emails on your computer or a phone/tablet. Or you can use a web browser like Firefox to view your email at you email providers webmail (aka web based email) site and in this case for sky it is https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email which seems to be a form of Yahoo email.
