Hi there, unofficial IT guy here for our little company. The subject line says it all. On version 78.13.0, when an email is printed the attachments are shown at the bottom of the last page. On version 91.0 (and 91.0.1) the filenames no longer appear. Is there a way to turn that back on? It's literally wreaking havoc here at my workplace because people use the printed emails to see what files to pull down off the network for each job.

I've browsed all sorts of related topics - found some answers that say export emails to text first, etc. That's not a solution my users will be willing to do, nor should they have to. This worked out-of-the-box in 78.13.0 and should continue to work out-of-the-box in 91.0. Reverting a couple of my users back to 78.13.0 has wiped out their address books and calendars, causing even more chaos today, so that's not an option either. I was able to recover these for one user using a backup, but the other user's calendar and address book are both gone for good.

Here's what I need - I need those attachment filenames to appear on printouts as they did in 78.13.0. If that means going back to 78.13.0 I can do that but first I need to know how to preserve people's address books and calendars before reverting them back.

I'm hoping the solution is a simple setting in 91.0 that shows the filenames again, if so please point me in the right direction for that.

Thank you, -Phil

I don't know why the attachments list is absent in 91, and I can't find a bug report that explains it. This is an option in Printing Tools NG, but it's not yet ready for 91. Before you downgrade from 91 to 78, export the address books to LDIF format and the calendars to ics format, as both formats can be imported to TB. In future, with major updates, I'd recommend installing the new version in a separate directory and running it with a separate profile, so the original setup is untouched.

@sfhowe: Thank you for the answer and info on how to preserve the address book and calendars when downgrading, as I fear I'll be dealing with this for the next few days. But I think it's a definite bug, because we have several other machines here running all manner of versions of TB (even a couple REALLY old versions) and this is the first time the attachment list disappeared like that on printed emails. I can't imagine that was done on purpose. Not sure where to go to report that as a possible bug though other than posting here.

Gonna keep this one open for a while in case anyone else has a fix to bring them back other than downgrade to 78.13.0. If I find one myself in the meanwhile, I'll post it here.

Thank you, -Phil

The printing operation was changed in 91; you can read about it here, including how to report bugs (requires Bugzilla account).

Updating from 78 to 91 right now is really only intended for users who are comfortable with unfinished software or experienced with profile management. Automatic or manual updates initiated from within TB 78 won't be deployed for some time, perhaps months, until most major upgrade bugs have been resolved. Yes, this point should be made explicit to anyone downloading 91.
