When I click on "Bookmarks," some of the bookmarks have lost the icon that is to the left of the page description, and it's just a blank square. Any idea how this can be fixed so the old icon it used to have can be there?
When I click on Bookmarks, and I see the list of all my favorite places, to the left of the bookmark title there is usually a picture to the left of the title. For example for Ticketmaster, it is a little TM icon. All of a sudden, for some of them only, there is now just a blank white square for the icon. I'm wondering if this could be fixed?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

You can try to restore the favicons with this extension.
I just downloaded a favicon add-on that randomly generates nice-looking icons in the site identification button, and also in the bookmark list so it isn't a blank square anymore and it's much more aesthetically pleasing now. Thanks for your help.
If the developers of Firefox are going to screw with the appearance of the graphical user interface, the least they can do is include an option to customize it to the desired appearance.
I've pretty much had it with the major releases coming out every other week. The old Firefox ethic is gone. I've reverted to 7.01 and will stay there until I can come up with a replacement browser.
P.S.
No, I don't want to have to download and install an add-on for a function that should be an integral part of the browser.
