  • when you are viewing your email in Thunderbird, the stand-alone mail program

If using the 3 line AppMenu button go to.. Options-Layout-Folder Pane Columns

If using the Menu Bar select View-Layout-Folder Pane Columns

If the menu bar is hidden press the alt key to make it appear.

I didn't know about the "app menu" button always wondered what that was as I only recognized it as an Android feature. Thanks for making me aware of it.

Additional info on toolbars - should anyone need more info on enabling them. I moved my 'Menu icon' from the right to the far left as it seemed more logical. Left click, hold and then drag to suitable location on Mail Toolbar.

I like to see 'Menu Bar' toolbar How to enable other Toolbars: See image below.
