I have 7 IMAP accounts related to volunteers work that is unrelated. For some accounts I work with templates. I always check that IMAP folders like Drafts, Sent and Templates are tagged accordingly. But when I edit a template and save, it disappears from the account /Inbox/Temples/ folder and resurfaces in Local Folders/Templates. I don't want them there. IMAP is my 'cloud', it makes sure that I have everything synced on my desktop, laptop and phone. I don't want anything in Local Folders except for some old archives.

I have set my templates to be saved on the server, and they are.

What is your setting in Account Settings - Account - Copies & Folders - "Keep message templates in"?

Is it the same for all seven accounts?

Is Thunderbird putting your templates there or somewhere else?

Are you saying that templates get saved on the server when you create them and then moved to local folders when you edit them? Or do they always go go the same place?
