Why have my incoming e-mails stopped being downloaded onto my computer? How can I correct this ?

Yesterday, my e-mails stopped being downloaded onto my computer from my ISP's server. E-mails are still coming onto the server. I have been using Thunderbird for three years and never had this problem before. I use Virgin cable and use POP3 for incoming e-mails. My POP3 and SMPT settings are correct.

Virgin tech support couldn't solve the problem. They installed Opera e-mail for me and the downloading onto that works.

I want to keep using Thunderbird. Can someone tell me what has caused the problem and how to solve it ?

Thank you, Arthur Goodman

Do you have a firewall or similar security software?

Has it or Thunderbird updated since this problem appeared?

Thank you both.

My anti-virus provider, AVG, did something wrong on its server. It corrected it and solved the poblem. Arthur
