How do you use the features on the Mozilla Support page

I posted a problem and received a response. When I selected "reply" there were links to Quote below my post and below the techs response. How and when do you use that link? Are there instructions anywhere on how to use the Mozilla support forum.

There might be answers about this somewhere, but since I don't know where, I'll give you my answer:

The "Post a Reply" box is always at the bottom of the thread and there's no way to reply directly to a specific post.

To provide context about what you're replying to, you have the option of clicking Quote below that post. What is does is copy the reply just above the Quote link into the "Post a Reply" box. The quoted material will appear inside a pair of <blockquote>...</blockquote> tags. You can type your comments below that. To avoid confusion, don't add new content inside those tags because it will look like part of the earlier comment. You can use the Preview button below the Post a Reply box to see how it will look.

Quoting is most helpful when there are many different things going on in a thread and you want to be specific about what you're commenting on. There's no rule on how to quote, or needing to quote, so if you find it easier to do it another way, that's fine.
