How do I uninstall 8 and revert to 7?
I can't stand this constant stream of upgrades. Once Again, FF breaks important extensions with an unnecessarily frequent upgrade.
Enough. I can't stand this unnecessary hassle. The main reason I use FF rather others is the available extension. Keep breaking the extensions...and it not only wastes my time but it means I may as well use something else, right?
How do I get rid of 8 and revert to 7?
Chosen solution
Morning coffee and ghostery both of them are compatible with Firefox 8

you can use addon compatibility reporter to use incompatible addon
Firefox 7

Firefox updated itself to FF8 this morning, and here's the list of my now "incompatible" extensions: Ad blocker; autoHideStatusbar; Click to call with Skype; Gmail Notifier; Google Gears; Google Toolbar for Firefox; and Java Console.
My Roboform *is* working, fyi, and I was able to Enable several extensions manually in the Add-ons Manager.
I just downloaded the addon compatibility reporter suggested above. Thank you!

And so today, I wake up, boot up and many of my FF extensions and things --from my Noia skin to Fox Clocks--are automatically disabled. It still says this is ver. 7.01.
But it just spontaneously starting disabling things.
Now, what's up with that? This is absurd.
Hi, if I uninstall v8 will all the data just be stored somewhere and automatically be picked-up again when I install v7.0.1 ? (I'd hate to lose all of my emails!??)
Your user data should be picked right back up by 7.0.1 (or 3.6.24) as Mozilla hasn't made user data incompatible, yet.
This stuff is driving me crazy, after the 8.0 update which, besides being ugly, broke a bunch of stuff I'm back at 3.6.24 (since its getting security updates). It's like they want to drive their user base away (said from someone who used firefox since the 1st release).
There is no longer an .exe file listed in the files you are linking to. Please give us a link that works.
Looks like you got your wish - just upgraded to 9 and will be reverting back to 8 until some javascript issues are fixed.
