After I force quit firefox on my macbook pro & re-opened it, a window came up titled "free upgrade of your installation" with the heading "Install Software in a Flash - To continue, please install the free Media Player (Required)". The terms & conditions said: PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE ACCESSING THE SITE AND DOWNLOADING ANY CONTENT. IF YOU USE THE SITE OR DOWNLOAD CONTENT YOU AGREE TO EACH OF THE FOLLOWING TERMS OF SERVICE.

This is a legally binding contract between you and InstallBiz. By downloading, installing, copying, running, or using our screensavers, clipart, wallpaper, games or other software (collectively "Content"). You are also agreeing to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to our terms, you must navigate away from our Sites, you may not download the Content, and you must destroy any copies of the Content in your possession. etc. etc. etc.

This sounded suspicious to me & wanted to know if this is a legit part of Firefox or not. Has anyone else seen this and installed it?

Thanks!

No, that application has no connection to Firefox or Mozilla.
