Why won't Firefox let me log on to https://cms.on.xwave.com/Citrix/MetaFrame/auth/login.aspx?

The error message is "secure connection failed" I've been unable to log on to this web site since Monday March 9, 2015 and this is the web site I use every day, most of the day. I have added it as an exception. I reset the computer to an earlier date (March 2, 2015) and then re-loaded Firefox. The problem persists. Please assist.

We are having problems with our connectivity which is woefully slow, and when someone from Xwave assisted me via TeamViewer pinging the web site, it just looked like the site timed out - but since I can log on from other computers on the same router, doesn't quite explain it. The other computers use a variety of browsers, including 1 other computer using Firefox.

You can have several issues. Please follow these instructions;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select Network. Look for Configure How Firefox Connects and press the Settings button. If you are using a proxy, make sure those settings are correct. If there is no proxy, first use No Proxy. If there is a problem, then try System Proxy.

Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Currently, I can't connect to that server. Perhaps it is not accessible to random members of the general public?

Could you test whether you get that same error in Firefox 35.0.1, Portable edition. This is a repackaged Firefox that you can unzip into a folder and run without disturbing your main Firefox setup, although you might not be able to run them simultaneously. You can grab that version from SourceForge:
