These problems started when upgraded to version 36. Each time there were newer upgrades while still in version 36, for example; when I check for a newer version in Help/About/check for updates, there have been 4 sub-upgrades 36.0.1, 36.0.2, 36.0.3, 36.0.4.

When I was asked to restart after it downloaded the upgrades, it closes my browser and then about 30 seconds later, the crash reporter comes up. This never happened before and is getting to be a concern at this point.

I wasn't entirely sure what you meant by copying the last 7-10, but here goes:

I have been seeing the same problem on my WinXP installation where a Firefox 36+ update crashes upon the restart; just happened now when I did the Firefox 36.0.4 update. That happened a few times when 36 was in Beta, too - but not every time, but like 3 out of 10 updates when in Beta testing.

Also, the CPU load is much higher when the update is installing itself than I am accustomed to seeing - and when it crashes the CPU is pegged until I hit the "Restart and Report the crash" button in the Crash Reporter window. Restarts fine with the usual ~40% CPU load.

BTW, not happening with the next Beta - Firefox 38 which is the Developer / Aurora version right now.
