After automatic update to v. 37.01 cannot connect to my bank site https://www.bbvafrances.com.ar/bf/home.html. I get the following message An error occurred during a connection to www.bbvafrances.com.ar. SSL received a record with an incorrect Message Authentication Code. (Error code: ssl_error_bad_mac_read)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I have tried everything suggested in Help (Firewall, Refreshing Firefox etc.) to no avail. This happens in both my PC and my Notebook with different Antivirus (Norton and Microsoft Security Essentials respectively), and not in other secure sites. However, I connect normally by using Chrome. With the previous version of Firefox (36) it worked OK. Thanks for any help

The error code ssl_error_bad_mac_read is somewhat rare on this forum. Past solutions may have included (sometimes it's hard to tell which suggestion helped):

  • Disabling Firefox from using IPv6 (see that topic in: Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can)
  • Checking for a proxy setting in the Options dialog: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button -- try "No Proxy"
  • Fixing a flaky internet connection
  • Removing some extensions (e.g., MaskMe and an old version of DoNotTrackMe)
  • Bypassing the filtering software NetNanny

During your update, could you have used Firefox's Refresh feature? This can happen when Firefox starts up slowly and says in order to make it less sluggish you can refresh/restore the browser. The best indication is that an Old Firefox Data folder appears on your desktop. If so, if this problem continues, I may suggest using one of the old files in that folder (so please don't delete it).

What cipher suite is Google Chrome using if you check the Connection tab in the doorhanger that opens if you click the padlock?

Thanks so much! Once I disabled IPv6 in my PC, it also worked in my Notebook and my Tablet! It seems Firefox Synced at once.
