Can't change search engine for Firefox Search?

So when I long press my home button, you know it launches the Google app. After installing Firefox, I was offered to search in Firefox instead. Since I use Duckduckgo, I was glad to have this as an option. However, the all that launches now, "Firefox Search", will only search in Yahoo as much as I've tried to change it. Is there a way to make this app not search in yahoo?

hi, this might be bug 1131087. can you try to toggle your default search engine within firefox back and forth once and see if duckduckgo is reflected in your search widget afterwards as well? Manage my default search engines in Firefox for Android

Toggling back and forth worked! It'd still be nice to be able to change within the search app but yes that worked thank you!
