Since installing Mozilla Firefox on my Dell laptop with Windows 7, I cannot disconnect my touchpad and just use my mouse. I can't even find "touchpad."
Previously, I used IE and disconnected my touchpad and began using a mouse. Since installing Mozilla Firefox, my touchpad is working again; BUT I DON'T WANT IT TO WORK. I ONLY WANT TO USE A MOUSE, BUT I CAN'T FIND THE TOUCHPAD CONTROL in my Control Panel anymore. What the heck happened? I have searched and searched, and I cannot find any way to turn the touchpad off because I can't even find the touchpad control anymore. With the touchpad on, my cursor jumps all over the place. When I was using just the mouse and the touchpad was turned off, this did not happen. It is happening again. Well, thanks to anyone who can solve this.

Windows > Control Panel. There is a setting that; if there is a mouse, the touch pad is disabled. Use this.
There is no touchpad there. That's the point. Where did it go? It was there when I used Internet Explorer; but, since I have installed Mozilla Firefox, touchpad has disappeared. I was able to turn off the touchpad when I had IE. Then when I installed Firefox it started working again w/o my doing anything, and there is no setting there anymore to turn it off. What the heck happened, I wonder. I sure wish I could turn touchpad off again. I wish I could find it now.
The touchpad could be listed with the mouse, or something like that.
