How do emails get into my Thunderbird inbox for MSN without showing up on Ourlook.com?

I occasionally get emails in my Thunderbird MSN inbox purporting to be from my daughter (they are not) that have some obviously bogus URL. They don't show up on Outlook.com, either in the inbox or the Deleted Items. How do they get into my Thunderbird inbox without passing through Outlook or how are they managing to be invisible on Outlook? Note - I tried this earlier, got into a hassle over my support account, and couldn't find this form afterwards, so I'm starting over.

my guess is they are in the outlook.com spam folder. Microsoft do honor the pop protocol by downloading ALL mail that arrives, even if they put it in the spam folder.. The POP protocol only knows of one folder, the inbox.
