What can be done about offensive ads? I try to avoid Google as much as possible because of their offensive ads.
For example: on Lipstick Alley, one of my favorite sites (a gossip and news site), there's advertising for some company named "nulific.com", with a picture of something that looked like a rotten cucumber with spikes sticking out of it. That is just so unnecessary. I do like ads that refer to things I've bought on the internet, like clothing, books, perfume, things like that. I realize nothing is free in this world, but most people know when images are just nasty and for no reason.

If you don't want to install an ad-blocker, because you do want to see certain advertisements, then you will just have to put up with offensive ads. The only thing I can think of is to try and contact the company behind the ads that offend you.

You can install AdblockPlus, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/
Subscribe to a filter list of your choice, and 'allow some non-intrusive advertising'. https://adblockplus.org/en/acceptable-ads
