What are you doing to firefox????
Each update is getting progressively worse and the latest (57) has destroyed all but 3 of my addons and messed up my bookmarks. The program USED to be the best browser around, but now I find myself using Chrome more and more while waiting for Firefox to load.
Not sure why you messed up one of the best browsers around.
Now with my addons not working and having to reconstruct my bookmarks, I am forced to use Chrome as my default browser.
Very disappointing.

Your bookmarks may not be missing.
Mozilla changed how the default bookmarks button works and which folders are displayed in the menu drop-down. Please look for your bookmarks in the Bookmarks Sidebar which can be opened easily via {Ctrl + B} from the keyboard. If your bookmarks are there, look in the Customize pallete for the bookmarks button that is sitting there, and drag that to the toolbar to replace that truncated menu display with the old one which will have all your bookmarks appearing there.

Hi drjulian,
Sorry to hear you're having problems. Can you tell me which add-ons were you using that are not working anymore? I can try and find out a possible replacement.
Also what happened to your bookmarks? If you had them in the toolbar in the new UI that is automatically hidden but you can bring it back from the Customize menu.
There were a few addons that were affected by the upgrade, most of which have similar replacements available. (I have been using Firefox for many many years so many of my addons fall into the legacy catagory). The most important (to me) that was lost was 'speeddial'. It, too, was legacy and lost in the upgrade, however I did discover a solution: I downgraded back to 5.6 and exported the speedial settings. I then added the addon 'groupspeeddial 6.5' and imported the settings. This solved the missing speed dials. (Hopefully this will help someone else who encountered the same problem) Regarding the bookmarks, I do not know exactly why, but when I completed the upgrade I had no bookmarks at all. Fortunately I had exported them recently for Chrome and was able to re-import them into Firefox 5.8, which resolved that issue. Consequently I am not operational in 58, however, I still find the new interface somewhat cumbersome, which may be attributed to a normal 'resistance to change.' I thank you for responding to my rant with a willingness to help. I will give the new version/interface a good workout and give myself a chance to adjust.
