Occasionally Firefox is opening Malware laden webpages in the current tab. Happening on both computers. Malware scans find nothing.
This is happening on the 2 computers we use in the house. It happens occasionally but is consistent. Out of nowhere a tab will open a malware loaded webpage. The webpages do differ but they are always infected pages. The pages that the current tab would be open at before the malware page is loaded are reputable sites so it is not that we are on untrustworthy webpages to begin with.
I have run the following scans yet nothing is found: 1) AVG Free (that is our installed anti-malware program) 2) Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller 3) HitmanPro 4) Malwarebytes AdwCleaner 5) Malwarebytes 6) Microsoft Safety Scanner 7) SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition 8) Zemana AntiMalware
Don't know what I can do to find the source of this problem and fix it.

Hi flaviobagnato, Try the Malwarebytes Browser Extension. It may not block the new tab from opening but, it will block the malware.
Also, Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good ad blocker.

I really need to find the source of the problem, not just block it from happening.
To me that is a workaround to the problem, not the resolution.
As you would appreciate I am not comfortable with a malware residing on our computers.

What you have described happening is known as a "redirect". There are Redirect Blocker extensions available, also. To help shed some light on the source of these redirects, try Firefox Lightbeam which enables you to see the first and third party sites you interact with on the Web.

I had a look at Lightbeam and it is not going to help me identify the source "program" that is opening the webpages.
As I said the original webpages that are open when the malware webpages open are reputable sites, such as eBay for example.
Obviously eBay, for example, are not generating malware redirects.
It is like there is a Firefox extension installed that is causing it however there are no extensions installed that could be generating the links.
Also the odd thing is that it is opening the webpages in a current tab, it does not open a new tab.
It seems to be internal to Firefox as I would expect that if it was a program external to Firefox then it would open the webpages in a new tab or window.
I reported it here instead of anti-malware forums as it seems to be internal to Firefox, but I could be wrong.
