I'm having two separate problems. I'm not sure if they're caused by the browser itself but I don't know where else it could come from.

1. Whenever I download a PDF it downloads through my browser but does not automatically open. Small issue, but a pain to have to go and find each file I download to open it.

2. More annoying problem. Whenever I use a search engine Firefox always opens another tab automatically, where it duplicates the search but in "safe mode". I typically use Duck Duck go, but this happens no matter what search engine I use. This occurs whether I search from the url bar or from the regular search engine website. In addition, if I go into the tab selector and try to close the safe tab it opens it again automatically. It will only close after I close the original tab.

I have done multiple malware scans and come up with nothing.
