Imported Eudora Messages Not Showing Message Contents
I have recently migrated to latest Thunderbird (68.10.0, 64 -bit), and manged to import all the mailboxes from Eudora 7, which I have used for about 30 years.
However, some of the messages in these migrated mailboxes do not display message contents, only the headings From, Subject, To. Nothing in the body of the messages. It affects only some of the messages, not all.
I have no clues on why this is happening, and which settings have I missed. Please help.

Thanks. I retained my TB68 calendar. What I did was simply copied the imported Eudora mailboxes in TB17 to the folders holding TB68 profile (mailboxes), reconciled them by moving new messages in TB68 to each of the Eudora mailboxes (renamed), and then deleted duplication. There were not that many new messages anyway over last 3 weeks. A little tedious but all done, so now I just use the TB68 profiles as default, without losing any calendar data too.
I have to thank you again for walking me through this. I bought the new laptop a month ago, and have been reading through Eudora and Thunderbird forums on how to migrate from Eudora to TB. I was aware of TB17 being recommenced as the best version for moving Eudora mailboxes to TB, but could not for some reason do it successfully when I tried a couple of times initially, about 3 weeks ago. This time though the Eudora mailboxes were "acquired" after re-installing TB17, without even any prompting. They were already in T17 as soon as I clicked Start TB17, after the setup.
Windows 10 did block me from installing Eudora 7 into my new laptop initially. So I installed Eudora 8 (OSE) instead, after copying Eudora 7 mailboxes manually to my new laptop. From there I tried install TB17 to migrate the mailboxes from Eudora 8 to TB17, but it didn't work - the imported mailboxes were corrupted and incomplete. Later, I finally figured out how to install Eudora 7 (and other 3rd party apps) in Windows 10. That may be the reason why I can now install TB17 to import Eudora 7 mailboxes by putting them both in x86 directory.
Your replies on the TB profiles was most useful in resolving the missing message contents of my "manually" imported Eudora mailboxes earlier on (before using TB17 to acquire them) as those were hidden. It would have taken me months of tinkling with the menu options in TB68, and probably never thought of looking into Help/Troubleshoot menu to figure out TB mailboxes are "hidden"in the profiles setting.

The reason for the missing messages may be due to how you imported the Eudora mail. There is some discussion here.

Thanks. I did what you said, and installed Thunderbird 17 and I managed to get all my Eudora mail box messages imported and no problem with displaying them.
Now, how do I move these imported mailboxes in TB17 to my TB68?
If you only have TB 17 installed and a single profile with the imported Eudora data, you can install TB 68 32-bit over TB 17, and the new version should read the same profile, which is stored in a different location from the program files. If you install TB 68 64-bit, I would first uninstall TB 17, as the 64-bit installs to a different location (Program Files instead of Program Files (x86)). TB 68 should still read the existing profile - but it may create a new, empty profile. If that happens, report back for further instructions; the profile with imported Eudora will eventually be read by 68.
Thanks. It was my ignorance as I am a new user of Thunderbird that I installed TB68, 64-bit first, in C: \Program Files.
Then I Imported my Eudora mailboxes (folder by folder, using Add On extension. I could not import all mailboxes at enmasse). Then I discovered some message contents are missing.
So I installed TB17 as you suggested in your first reply. I got back all my Eudora mail boxes into TB17, which is 32-bit and is now in my C:\Program Files x86.
In other words, I now have 2 versions of TB17 and 68 running in my laptop. I am a single user with single profile.
What is the best way for me to move the good imported mailboxes (Local) from TB17 to TB68? I prefer to use TB68 as my default going forward.

How many profile folders are there in this folder:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles ? AppData is hidden by default.
I suspect there is one profile, xxxx.default that is read by TB 17, and another xxx.default-release that is read by TB 68. If that's the case, launch TB 68, Help/Troubleshooting, about:profiles, select the xxx.default profile and click 'Launch in new browser'. If that shows the correct Eudora folders, you can set the xxx.default profile as the Default profile for TB 68 in about:profiles.
Looks like it works. Once I switched the default profile, I get back all the imported Eudora folders in TB17, when I launched my TB68.
Now a minor issue. As I have been using TB68 for a few weeks, and I have moved some messages to some of the local folders in TB68. When I switched my default folders to TB17, I will miss these newly saved messages.
Question: I am not sure how the 2 different profiles are saved. Does it mean that I cannot delete my TB17? Lest I may lose the TB17 profiles when I use TB68?

The folders should appear under Local Folders when TB is restarted.

I guess, while waiting for a better solution from you, I will just use TB68 profile.
When I need some old messages which are not displayed in TB68, I will switch profiles, and fetch them from TB17.
Still this will mean I need to keep TB17 in my program files.

OK, I am not that IT sophisticated enough to absorb this. Also I am a new user of TB. Need to digest what you say here. Where do I find Mail/Local Folders ?
Mail is a subfolder of the profile folder. Help/Troubleshooting, about:profiles, to open a profile in File Explorer, or click Open Folder in Troubleshooting to open the current profile.
You couldn't have known it, but installing 68 before 17 makes it complicated to run 17 on a profile that has been opened in 68,even if the profile was originally created by 17. TB 68 introduced a misguided feature that makes running older versions less easy than before. But copying mbox files between profiles, as in my previous reply, bypasses these issues.

Launch TB 68 in the other, original profile, export the calendar, then launch 68 in its default profile, the one with Eudora content, and import the calendar. Export and Import are on the Calendar tab under Events & Tasks; press Alt if the Menu Bar with Events & Tasks is hidden.
