Can't drag URL from address bar to desktop
It has become impossible to drag the URL from the address bar to the desktop.
Specifically, the action described in this article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/create-desktop-shortcut-website DOES NOT WORK.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player
or remove it using these links;
Uninstall Flash Player | Windows {web link}
Uninstall Flash Player | Mac {web link}
Note: Windows users should download the
ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for
Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in
flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install
the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.
Flash Player Version: 32.0.0.344

Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Step 1: Select Operating System
Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .)

The problem does not recur in Safe Mode. Thank you. So I'll be working on troubleshooting which add-on is causing the problem.
I'm not sure if an add-on could case this ti happen.
This could be hardware acceleration in Firefox or possibly a permission or sandbox issue.
You can set this pref to 3 or lower on the about:config page to reduce the sandbox security level.
- security.sandbox.content.level = 3 (or 2 or 1)
- close and restart Firefox to make the change effective.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
