How can I remove WETRANSFER from Tbird
wetransfer seems to be causing an error trying to load Thunderbird. How can I remove wetransfer. I did not want it, and the automatic upgrade of Tbird caused the problem.
On loading Tbird in a terminal the following error messages occur:-

Hello there sync23. We have read your message. We try to help you.
Given the entries that you have sent me, it appears that it will be an error or incorrect from the add on side.
There was not much explanation when I viewed it.
Obviously when updating your old version of Thunderbird to the updated version, something went wrong and it points to your installed program.
Can you see if you start Thunderbird in safe mode if there is a difference and that the program will work again if you want to keep it?
If it can be deleted which is also recommended. That is also to remove all add-ons and restart Thunderbird re-install the necessary add-ons on today's version you will immediately see a new window with the correct one versions of now.
If this does not work, any Thunderbird Software can be deleted and simply reinstalled. You hereby keep your data.
Then you can try again to install your program again.
Greetings Firefox Volunteer.
Unfortunately I have tried all that you suggest, but Wetransfer, though showing in the list of AddOns cannot be deleted!
Loading in safe mode works, but the AddOns I really need, such as MailMerge are therefore disabled.
I need to be able to get rid of Wetransfer so that I can continue to use Tbird.
I am more than a little annoyed at the disruption caused by unwanted additions to Tbird. I have now stopped automatic updates. Re-installing Tbird when changing computers and Linux distros has caused huge problems over the years because I need to keep many years of email history, so re-installing now is not an option.
My question remains simply this - how can I remove Wetransfer? I am tempted to use the Config Editor and remove the entry extensions.webextensions.uuids. Can anyone verify that this would help?
Hello there
Hello there Again. Sync23.
Well you can remove it if you want yes. make sure to backup your profile in case something goes wrong.
do you know how to do this?
-Backup your profile (if something goes wrong, you always can have your original profile).
-Launch your browser => remove the add-on. Restart twice.
Launch your browser and go to about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox => look for the "Internal UUID" of the add-on you want to remove. Another way to do the same: Go to about:config => -extensions.webextensions.uuids => Find the "Internal UUID". Or open your prefs.js file, and inside find the "Internal UUID".
Inside your profile folder, go to storage folder => go to default folder => find the folder using the "Internal UUID" you have from above, and delete the folder.
In prefs.js file, remove any reference related to the add-on.
-Re-open the browser => Reinstall the add-on... hopefully your problem will be solved. If something went wrong => Use the backup of your profile.
Greetings Firefox Browser

wetransfer is a built in add-on and therefore you cannot remove it - or if you can, it will be reinstalled when you update because it is built in. But it doesn't hurt anything. And I don't think the items you have listed cause a problem.
What function is not working for you in Thunderbird?
Tbird was working fine until the latest autu-update.
Now I cannot load Tbird except in safe mode from the command line - I am using Xubuntu - uname output is "Linux Aspire-E5-511 5.4.0-48-generic #52-Ubuntu SMP Thu Sep 10 10:58:49 UTC 2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux"
Every attempt to load normally gives the error response shown in my first post, even after removing all add-ons.
I replied earlier but it does not seem to have been accepted, so here goes again.
Thunderbird can only be loaded now in safe mode, with all addons disabled. Even with addons disabled it will not load ordinarily _ it always fails with the error message (only visible when loading via the CLI):-

As wetransfer is mentioned throughout these errors, I suspect that it is wetransfer that is the problem.
I am running Xubuntu _ output from uname -a is:-
Linux Aspire-E5-511 5.4.0-48-generic #52-Ubuntu SMP Thu Sep 10 10:58:49 UTC 2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Hello there sync.
I think it's just a matter of erasing everything and checking it with an uninstall tool and / or program. Some topics related to Thunderbird and your We transfer program Each piece can be thoroughly erased and cannot be restored to your computer machine for the time being.
It is clear that your computer machine is not currently suitable for these subjects and software.
try to get your hands on another piece of software and try carefully.
It is also not clearly a subject for Thunderbird.
Well as for the add-ons from us for use together.
Do you Guys use another communication add-on or extension together?
For mobile use?
Do you guys use a Aspire or is it the Linux version?

Let me reiteratet wetransfer is built in and cannot be permanently removed. But perhaps something related to addons is broken.
I suggest you a) backup you profile - this should have been recommended at the beginning b) delete addons.json, extensions.json and the extensions directory
Then try starting Thunderbird

Hello there.
You can just have good add-ons and extensions but have broken images on your webpage for add-ons.
please check that your system's date, time & timezone are set correctly!

Thanks, your suggestions to delete addons.json, extensions.json and the extensions directory solved the problem and Tbird now runs ok.
However there is still a problem, because if I run Tbird through the CLI I get error messages although Tbird still loads and runs ok.
The error messages are here, and you can see that they still implicate wetransfer:-
