This all started after last firefox upgrade/update a few weeks ago so installed gmail chrome which works fine.

Even reistalled OS & then worked ok till firefox did it’s own updae.

I have deleted & reinstalled a couple of times but same problem.

I use Linux Ubuntu 20.04.2LTS on an older (+/- 5 year) HP Pro 3130 MT a 64 bit machine. Chuck

Hi chuck598, several other ubuntu users have this problem too. See also: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1332346

Try to install firefox from the apt repository.

  1. open the terminal
  2. type sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade (this command will update all your applications and can take a while; if you don't want to update your apps, leave this step out)
  3. type sudo apt install firefox or if "firefox" is not found sudo apt install firefox-esr (you need root privileges)
