I reset my Firefox browser and my bookmarks did not transfer over properly. They are all there but you can only access them by clicking Bookmarks>Manage Bookmarks after which all my bookmarks appear in the favorites bar in the proper order and fully functional on the left side of the pop up window. Then there are a bunch of duplicated folders.

Is there a way for me to put the favorites bar back in the bookmarks tab on the right side of the page?

Let's start with,

If you have sync, and there is a problem anywhere, Shut Down Sync Immediately On All Devices to prevent the problem from spreading. Once the problem is fixed, perform the same repair on all computers/profiles before using sync again.

[v57+] Places Maintenance is built into Firefox.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

You will find Places Database near the bottom. Press the Verify Integrity button.

If any errors are reported, check this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-bookmarks-and-history-will-not-be-functional

The places.sqlite file contains your History and Bookmarks. And it looks like it is corrupted.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox. The browser should then create a new place.sqlite and recover your bookmarks from the backup files.

Note: Your history is not backed up and will be lost.

Can you tell us what reasons you had to refresh Firefox and create a new profile ? Did you previously had problems with the bookmarks or history ?

Yes.

My Firefox bookmarks had somehow duplicated and reduplicated themselves to the point that the bookmarks menu was worthless.

I was able to about an hour or two ago to cut and paste my Favorites Bar to a secondary line at the top of the browser. At this point it still all works.

Were you previously using Sync to sync the bookmarks to a mobile device as that can be a possible cause for issues with the bookmarks ?

I did sync it to a new iPhone that I got last year but I have no idea how to undo that.

Here is a screenshot showing my "Favorites Bar" in the third line from the top where it it is now located.

It is fully functional except that I can no longer add new link to it.
