Is there a way so that when I’m using private windows that the managed passwords will work? Even ever I’m in a private window I have to enter user ids and passwords for sites that I have the passwords saved. If I go to a normal window it works fine. This makes using private windows too annoying at times to even use.

You can't keep session cookies like for a website to remember you when you are in PB mode if that is what you mean. If you use PB mode then you need to login each time you close all PB mode windows and start a new PB mode session. Detail like websites remembering you and log you in automatically is stored in cookies.

Firefox has two cookie jars, one for regular windows stored in cookies.sqlite in the profile folder and one for all Private Browsing windows kept in memory. Cookies in the PB jar that is kept in memory (i.e. not stored in the profile folder) are shared among all PB Windows and PB Tabs and are purged automatically when you close all PB mode windows or close Firefox.

I was not specifying cookies and such from one website to another . When I initially enter a page and it prompts for a password the autofill doesn’t work.

dmitche3, if you click inside the username edit field does a dropdown menu showing your username appear? If so, then you might need to select your username here first, before the login details will autofil.

And if the dropdown menu doesn't show immediately upon clicking inside the username edit field, does it appear if you press alt+down arrow?
