Installing Firefox on a new Win 11 computer

more options

Hi all. I recently had a terminal problem on my Win 10 computer so have bought a new Win 11 machine. I ran Firefox on the old Win 10, had 5 email accounts, had about 12 local folders and had my Profile stored in a folder on the desktop. The folder was moved there some years ago but don 't remember how I did it. I moved it there because this folder gets backed up every night.

So, I have managed to remove the HDD from my old machine and have located the 'old' profile folder. I now need to re-install Firefox on the new machine and match it up to my old profile folder (I think...)

Any advice on how to do that?

Regards

Steve

What you should've done use Firefox browser FAQ to move the profile, data, login, passwords using the browser on the W10 computer and move them to files or usb or html files and then use the new setup on the W11 computer to import the data back. You don't just copy files from the other W10 and expect them to work. This is the proper way and copying files will result in corrupted files or the Firefox deleting the data since it doesn't match or can't use it correctly. So you need to get the W10 running with the drive and use the correct backup methods for the data so they can be correctly imported into the new setup.
