Firefox error when opening application
Recently installed latest firefox 3.6.3. Had other issues going on with my computer so am unsure exactly what triggered this event while fixing other issues (checking for virus/malware, updating windows xp). Tried reinstalling but issue still present.
When opening firefox, error message below appears.
Error Message: The instruction at "0x7c884204 referenced memory at "0xffffffff". The memory could not be "read".
Weird thing is, as I have firefox on my quick launch bar, when I double click it, attempting to open the application twice, it works, opening 2 firefox windows with no error. but when firefox is closed and I attempt to open just once, error message above appears.
This happened
Every time Firefox opened

sweet! thanks guys! did what you guys mentioned and identified it was my Java Quick Starter 1.0 extension that was causing the error. now to go fix that :9 thanks again.

Does this also happen when you start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode?
safe mode works just fine.
Try disabling all addons and see if that works - if it does, try enabling your addons one by one to find the one failing.
If not, try with some of the other options provided by the Safe Mode startup dialog - could also be a problem with a toolbar, setting, search engine or bookmark, like a damaged file.
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window. You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")
