Is there a way to set the zoom universally and have it stay set so you do not have to reset the zoom for each page? I would like to have the option to set the zoom (about 3 CTRL +) settings and have it stay at that setting for all pages. As it is, I have to set the zoom for each and every page. I have a wide screen monitor so I can afford to make the screens a bit larger so they are easier to read.

Try using the Default FullZoom Level extension, which allows you set a per-centage zoom level for all websites: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6965
