Firefox 4 is constantly not responding
I switched to Firefox 4 a few days ago, from the first time I used it I've had problems with it not responding. With Firefox 3 I had this problem once or twice a day, I would restart Firefox and it would then work fine for a while. Firefox 4 however does this every 5-10 minutes and has every time I've tried to use it, it can stop responding when I try to click a link, change tabs or try to scroll down the page, I've even come back to the computer after a few minutes away to find it not responding when it was working perfectly before. I've tried running in safe mode, I've tried reinstalling it but nothing's worked, I've had to change back to the previous version because I found 4 unusable, the old version is working exactly as it did before. From what little I've been able to see of Firefox 4 I think I'd like it a lot more than previous versions if it didn't need restarting every 10 minutes.

This may be down to the version of Norton you appear to have installed. The official stance at the moment can be seen here: Norton product compatibility with Firefox Updates
However, according to another post @ If your program has updated to version 18.6.0.29 then running the Norton Live Update manually will rectify the problem.
I have same issue. Norton (nor any of its flavours / substitutes) are NOT istalled.

I'm having lots of hanging/crawling too and if I try to work through it, I get crashes. Posted about it here: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/827423
Hi, i had the exact same problem with FF4, it got so bad that it would "not respond" near enough every click of the mouse, i could not find help anywhere, so many solutions from people who reproted the same problem, but none of them worked,, malwarebytes and kaspesky both reported no viruses, i started FF4 in safe mode, the same thing, i then started it over and over uninstalling one addon ata a time until i removed all of my addons, but it still kept happening, fortunately i found my own solution, i upgraded to FF5.5 Beta, that was 3 days ago, ive not had a problem since, i hope that this solution may work for you too. it would appear that this is just a FF4 problem, good luck.
