In firefox 4/5 you could right click the page and select "Bookmark this page" and a dialog box would popup and ask you where you want to put the bookmark. On firefox 6, when I right click and select "bookmark this page" the dialog box does not come up and it goes into the ROOT bookmark under "unsorted bookmarks". Why was this feature removed, or better yet how do I re-enable it?

After you right click and open the bookmark dialog, click folder area and a pull down will open, in there find Choose, click this and you can choose where to put bookmark.

And I don't remember it ever not being this way, maybe back on version 3.6.

If that is not clear try giving this a read.

Right. That's how it should work. This is on a clean install of Firefox 6 on a fresh install of windows 7 x64 professional. The only addons I'm using are adblock plus, xmarks and IEtab. If I right click and bookmark this page I do not get any other dialog box. It just puts the bookmark into unsorted bookmarks.

Try disabling the Xmarks add-on and see what happens.

I disabled Xmarks and it didn't make a difference.
