After inputting a site address in the address bar, either through typing or from the history/autocomplete, pressing enter does not send me to the page, and I have to manually click the go button on the right. Disabling all my plugins didn't make any difference.

That issue can be caused by the AVG Safe Search extension.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
