OK I don't know but the latest version of flash player really frustrated me. I don't like Chrome been my entire life Firefox user, but I will have to switch over since I can't stand adobe flash plugin. I uninstalled it and after reboot Firefox automatically plays videos in youtube but does not do the same thing in dailymotion or vimeo or other websites. Is there a solution? Please help me i like Firefox a whole lot.

Hi Raynover, although Google Chrome doesn't require you to install Flash as a plugin, that's because Flash is built in. So I don't think you can really get away from Flash!!

This troubleshooting article has the latest suggestions on Flash in Firefox, and I suspect it will be regularly updated for at least the next week or two: Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox.

I suddenly had the problem not being able to play videos in Firefox after downloading v13. Just got a black screen. I disabled my Real Downloader (as someone had suggested) and now it works fine. Mozilla needs to fix the incompatibility with Real Downloader. I have been with Firefox for years but I will switch browsers if I have to.

I don't have problems playing videos but with the new version I cant cycle through tabs with Ctrl+(Shift)+Tab once I click something inside the flash, even if I click outside the flash. The key functions vanish (tab-key cycles inside the flash through pause, volume, full screen button etc.) and the only way to change tab is with the mouse, which I don't like. Yes for me this is a reason to give up on Firefox. On the other hand, Chrome doesn't seem to use adobe flash so you can cycle through PDFs, flash videos etc., with your bare keyboard!! So, can I make Firefox behave like Chrome on this? Please enlighten me!

If a Flash player is used then you can't come around not having the Flash plugin installed.
If websites offer other formats like OGG or WebM then it will work, but websites that only offer Flash files won't work.
There may exist online players that allow to paste the media link to have them play via their website, but then you need to know the URL of the media file.

version 13 is full of problems. until they get some new releases, try to the best you can in an earliar version. I know i can because i am. 12 works fine though you may get an update error message saying it is not supported. it goes away after a while. meanwhile guys at mozilla can fix up the issues. they have to because we talk about them so much here!!!

@mozillaFirefox911 Nope version 12 doesn't seem to work either.

@cor-el Adobe Flash is not installed on my computer right now, but Chrome really does not have any problems opening ANY videos.

I think that Mozilla should fix this, because I see many users switching to Chrome. I cannot deal with flash right now so I am one of them.

MozillaFirefox911, this is a support forum (not a chat site as you treat it as) and the Firefox 12.0 and earlier versions were supposedly full of problems also.

The new Flash 11.3 plugin on Windows has had issues in various Firefox versions (including old releases) and not just Fx 13 whether it be crashes or flash videos not playing.

i work around problems using noscript and other little gadgets. i have never had a virus issue with these items in years. i have version 12. i am not using as a forum. i am mearly suggesting what i feel works. if you have a problem, you may say so in a personal message. no need to go so public about it.

Hi Raynover, was this with the Flash plugin or with native HTML5 video support? I think plugins have always captured keyboard input once you activate them, but I haven't tested with native HTML5 video.
