The two sites I had chosen as home sites do not render properly. Everything else is fine.

I did a slew of driver updates on my computer today and it survived. When I opened FF after the work, the two sites I had been using as my homesite no longer rendered properly. New York Times and Facebook. Every other link (I tried dozens) worked fine. I changed the homesite to Google, and it was okay. I uninstalled FF and reinstalled with a new homesite and it worked fine. But the NYT and FB still didn't work, Interestingly, levels below the top on NYT work fine. For grins I changed my homesite to a lower level on the NYT and it too works fine. Something has corrupted the NYT and FB loads.

When you have a problem with a particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

This may take a few minutes if you have a large cache.)

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, use either of the following:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

Here you can delete the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help at all?
