The number of items would be displayed before but no longer are. Previously when I clicked on Show All History and then clicked Yesterday and then scrolled, the number of items would appear at the bottom. Now Name, Location and Tags are stacked with boxes next to them in a separate pane where number of items used to be displayed.

For several versions now, I only recall seeing the number of items if I run a search. I noticed that if I click an item and press Ctrl+a to select all, then the count appears below the list.

If you always saw the count, I wonder whether you had an extension enhancing your display that might have become disabled? You can check for disabled extensions here (they cluster toward the bottom):

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category

You can check for extension updates by clicking the "gear" icon above the list, then Check for Updates.

Checking for extension updates didn't work, but thanks for the reply and thanks for letting me know about Ctrl+a.
