invisible search plugin, causes error messages and crashes, how to remove?
automatic search, using double green underlines of words, pops up little info-windows and full windows and crashes and the following error message: A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: http://ig.icanfindthis.me:8080/adserver/static/js/inimage_s.js?pid=66&ext_domain=icanfindthis.me&ox_subId=300020622500000000:1
it is apparently a plugin as if I restart with plugins disabled it disappears. Cannot find this "program/plugin" anywhere, don't really know its name, using regedit, task manager or??

We could handle it in many ways, but if the plugin disappears in safe mode, best solution is to reset Firefox.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Thank you.
Thanks, tried already tried reset to no avail. when get out of safe mode this thing comes back. Thanks sam
Certainly that thing comes with a "present" that gets installled in your PC to check extension is installed and if not install it by force.
Let's find a tougher solution.
Note: this procedure is not tested to work for your concrete issue. Should you see any problem over using this method, restore your backups. You need UAC elevation to apply this.
- Make a copy of c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (Where c:\windows is your Windows setup folder), just in case.
- Open a elevated Notepad.
- Type in the file box C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (Where c:\windows is your Windows setup folder)
- Add a line as follows:
127.0.0.1 ig.icanfindthis.me
127.0.0.1 *.icanfindthis.me
- Save and wait 2 minutes before connecting again. Your network connection is expected to go down for a while.

Sorry, no such luck. This thing is really invasive, in the way and ticking me off. Been fighting it for a couple of mths going thru the trbl shooting guide and elsewhere. was hoping this would help as I agree with your diagnosis. Thanks again Sam
Hello, if you have no problem in safe mode then, in normal mode Test for faulty extensions
(in safe mode The status of plug-ins is not affected, but All extensions are disabled, also Hardware acceleration is disabled)
also you can Turn off hardware acceleration to see if the problem goes away.
thank you
