Greetings:

Ever since moving from XP down to 7, my Thunderbird (24.3.0) is completely mute. Other applications can make all kinds of noise.

If I go to Tools/Options/General, browse to a .wav file and click on Play, silence. I can play this same file with any other audio app.

I'd like to get Mailbox Alert to work on this system, but I'm convinced that until Thunderbird can play sounds, Mailbox Alert won't be able to either. So far, this has proven true.

So what am I missing?

Thanks!!!

OK, figured this out as soon as I'd posted.

7 allows the system to apply different sound levels to different applications. Thunderbird was muted!!

Grrrrr!
