This is too complicated for me. will the new sync feature leave my computer exposed?
I am not computer literate and afraid that if I sign up for Sync and I move from one device to another, the former will by open to preying eyes.

The data that Sync transfers is encrypted before it leaves the device and stays encrypted when being sent to the Sync server where it remains encrypted. And the same for the 'journey' to your other devices, where your data would be decrypted when it arrives inside of Firefox. Only your eyes or another pair of eyes viewing Firefox on your devices (connected to Sync) can see or have access to your Sync data.
The encryption keys (2) are created from your chosen Password for your Firefox Account. Change the FxA Password and your data is virtually useless, and your data is wiped from the Sync server.

Note that you should always use a strong password to connect to Sync and never use the same password for more that one website.
