How to remove the star beside the bookmark button
After the Firefox update 29 and later, there's a "star" button beside the "bookmark" button. It's annoying when I try to open up my bookmarks, accidentally click on the "star" and bookmark the current page. Customize doesn't work since those 2 buttons are attached to each other and cannot just remove the "star"
Is there a way to remove the "star" beside the "show your bookmarks" button?

The Bookmarks Menu button is actually the drop marker of the combined star (Bookmark This Page) and Show all Bookmarks button.
Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.
@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */ #bookmarks-menu-button toolbarbutton { visibility:collapse !important; }
The customization files userChrome.css (user interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Does this code in a userChrome.css file in a chrome subdirectory in the profile work to remove it?
- @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul");
- #star-button {display: none !important;}
