That is a problem with a Norton NIS update (ipseng32.dll).

You should update to the current Firefox 31 release (Firefox 32 will be released in a few days).

I just uninstalled and reinstalled to v31, but Firefox still crashes.

This is not a problem with Firefox, but with Norton software, so reinstalling Firefox won't help. You need to disable the Norton component (possibly Browser Protection) to recover this issue as posted in the above linked thread on the Norton forum.
