How do send a bookmarks shortcut to my desktop?
I use a favorites desktop shortcut when I want to skip my homepage and go directly to a different website. I very seldom use IE anymore. I have tried to create a bookmarks shortcut using drag and drop. It does not work. My favorites listing is very out of date and it it too difficult to continuously update. Of course, when I click on a website it opens in Mozilla..as I want it to.

Do you mean that you want to open a window that shows the bookmarks?
A possibility is to append one of these to the target field of the desktop shortcut (leave a space before it):
- -chrome chrome://browser/content/bookmarks/bookmarksPanel.xul
- -chrome chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul
The first opens the bookmarks like you see in the bookmarks sidebar and the second opens the Bookmarks Manager (Library)
Sorry, I did not make myself clear. I was asking to shortcut my whole list of Bookmarks websites, not just one site. I then click on the list's line item and Mozilla opens to that site.
I am not that computer literate, but it seems to me that I need to use the CHROME browser to accomplish this. I do not wish to install CHROME. I did not create a bookmarks sidebar..no need for it. The library is too bulky to serve my purpose. Guess it cannot be done easily. I thank you so much for your kind assistance and prompt replies.
The presence of chrome in my above reply has nothing to do with Google Chrome, but refers to the Firefox usage of the word chrome to reference to user interface components.

This is only about a desktop shortcut to launch Firefox with a built-in window that hides the usual chrome.
