As a long-term very satisfied Thunderbird user since the last couple of weeks Firefox freezes and takes several seconds to delete even a very short e-mail-- why??

Hi Malken. Are you using webmail? Or are you using Thunderbird to delete messages?

A large number of emails being deleted can take a bit to delete. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks Guigs2. Yes I understand the delay if deleting a lot, but even one short e-mail takes say 10 secs and longer ones much more. I use Thunderbird and have been for several years and get a lot of e-mail traffic, but this problem has only come up over the last week . I have used System Mechanic Professional to clean up all those many things it can, but all to no effect.
