Why does Firefox prevent me from downloading AVG

The AVG site advertises a Firefox link for their privacy add-on. Firefox then prevents the connection. Is AVG a "dodgy" site?

I don't suggest using any of AVG's products, they duplicate functionality already in Firefox, are sub-par in way of detecting viruses, and have a history of causing other bugs and security issues.

Thankyou very much Tyler. I had a feeling that Firefox wouldn't block without good reason. This was going to be my third AVG app. I will take your advice. I'm now going to uninstall AVG Cleaner and AVG AntiVirus.
