messages are being grouped together, so only one displays. How do I go back to listing all messages by date received?

Recently, do not know for how long, if I receive several emails from the same source, they are grouped together (with an arrow to the left) and the preview panel shows all of them. They were previously shown individually according to date and time (if received today). How do I get back to this? Have tried 'Help' topics, and followed their suggestions. Nothing has helped.
