Configuration
Hello I have recently created an anonymous email account with HMA (HideMyAss) and am trying to configure it with Thunderbird so I can send encrypted emails. My problem is when I try to create the new account in Thunderbird account settings it cannot find the HMA email address.
Is there something I am missing, I am fairly new to PGP and encryption protocol.
The other thing is I've tried emailing HMA through my normal email address without any signing or encryption and now Thunderbird is saying the connection to the outgoing server timed out..
Thank you, Marcus Colley

I'm not exactly familiar with HMA, but I believe it is a VPN service, and has got nothing to do with email encryption. If you want to encrypt your messages using PGP/GPG you'll need to install the Enigmail add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/enigmail/ http://kb.mozillazine.org/Enigmail
For any problems sending messages through the VPN tunnel you'd better contact HMA support. https://support.hidemyass.com/hc/en-us/articles/202720546-SMTP-Sending-emails-while-connected-to-VPN
Thanks christ1, I have already configured Thunderbird with Enigmail and added my email to a GPG Keychain which I then added to the account in Thunderbird. The problem is emails won't send. It times out the SMTP from Outlook or HMAMail depending on which account I use, but the HMAMAil account won't even configure onto Thunderbird even though I know I've entered the information right.

I don't think it can be accessed via POP/IMAP and SMTP in the first place. You should contact HMA for instructions and/or advice.
