Removing Gophoto.it malware extention (2015)

Hi, I have recently noticed I have an unwanted add-on called Gophoto.it.

I have tried to remove the addon but am so far having no luck. I'm a Mac OS X v10.10 user with Firefox v40.0.3

When on the addons page in firefox there is no option to remove the add-on, just to disable it. I have tried restarting in safe-mode, as well as a fresh install to remove it but I'm still unable to.

I tried to remove it manually, I searched about:config and have come up with one result, I have tried to find this in the directory under extensions and the corresponding file doesn't show up. (The preference name for the file is: extensions.a2ea36bf108774aaa882cff78f7d9d95cdfb1672d116a4eb48be044786bd1d3ddcom34068.34068.internaldb.Resources_resource_175513)

I Also removed the folder called "{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}" from Library/Application Support/Mozilla/Extensions directory, That didn't solve the problem either.

I wish to completely remove this persistent malware (not just keeping it disable). I would really appreciate it if anyone be able to help.
