I am not sure what trusteer is but googled it and it appears to be some sort of virus thing. I am not aware of it being on my laptop.

"Trusteer Rapport" or "Trusteer Endpoint Protection" is security software that some banks and other finanical institutions recommend. If it's installed you will see it listed on the Windows Start Menu "All Programs" list. See: https://www.trusteer.com/support/rapport-windows-start-menu

If it's there, you can stop it from running and restart Firefox to see if that solves the problem. For a video on how to temporarily disable this software, see http://trusteer.force.com/PKB/articles/Video/How-to-Stop-and-Start-IBM-Security-Trusteer-Rapport-in-Windows-7?l=en_US&lang=en_US

I did a search and disabling Trusteer software has been known to fix problems uploading photos or other images using Firefox, as repored recently in another thread, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1098352

I'm sorry no one has replied yet. You wrote that you ... followed an old thread I found on google to rest to default and to clear cache an so on with no luck.

I assume you tried a Firefox reset as outlined here? Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

It might help if you could explain further what you mean by "upload photo,s to an email in yahoo". For the Facebook issue, you could try Facebook Help, which is mentioned in the Fix problems with Facebook games, chat and more article. See also Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems for other possible solutions,.

Hi AliceWyman. I tried the refresh as you suggested and no luck. To explain with further detail, by uploading photo's I mean adding a photo as an attachment to a yahoo email, it purrs along for a minute or two and then gives me a fault box. The same thing happens if I try to upload a photo to my facebook page or the general page. I dont think it can be a Facebook or Yaoo fault as it has only happened since I updated Firefox ( I have been using it for many many years ) and if I close Firefox and use explorer ( which I dont like using ) I can upload photos to both Yahoo and Facebook. Any further advice would help, and keep me from having to return to explorer. Regards, David.

I'm sorry, could you give the exact error message you see in the fault box when you try to attach a photo to Yahoo email? What's the Facebook error?

Are you using Trusteer?

Hi thanks for responding. I am not sure what trusteer is but googled it and it appears to be some sort of virus thing. I am not aware of it being on my laptop. I use ESET NoD32 and have done for years. This problem has only just arisen. I swithed to Chrome last night and it works perfectly with photos to Facebook and Yahoo, so I guess the problem is withinthe Firefox bit somewhere.
