I would like to restore the red X next to the delete quick filter which was replaced by a circle with a line drawn through it.
I discovered quick filters and quickly set up a filter for "DELETE". The filter symbol for "DELETE" was appropriately a big red X. All of a sudden the red X vanished and was replaced by a circle with a line through it. How can I get my red symbol back? Thank you

Does the preferred symbol re-appear if you disable QuickFilters? If so, your issue is with QuickFilters and I'd suggest you ask its author what could be done.
Personally I prefer the crossed circle symbol. X is over-used and can mean, dependent on context, either 'close' or 'delete' . A universal separate symbol for 'delete' would suit me fine.
Hello Zenos-Thanks for your reply. I researched your answer but could not come up with a mechanism for selecting the symbol next to the word delete.
After a few days, I decided to move the delete symbol to the far right of all the symbols. After I did this, the crossed circle symbol vanished and the "BIG RED X" reappeared. So I am pleased.
Here is something else that would help me if I knew how to do it. I would like to create a brand new symbol, one that is not on the list of symbol choices. The symbol I would like to create is "MOVE TO".
Thanks very much

I have more information. The red X is just one symbol among many that seem to come and go at random. For example, the "WRITE" function has a particular symbol ( a pencil and paper), the "PRINT" function as a printer as a symbol, etc
I do not know what action on my part causes the entire group of symbols to appear and reappear.
