How do I make it so outgoing messages are opened in a tab instead of a new window?
Whenever I reply to or compose an email, it opens in a small new window and gets lost behind other programs that are opened. Is there a way to open them in a new tab or somewhere within the same window?

No. At present, the Write function is available only in its own window. I've seen efforts to do this in a tab and they all founder on some inexplicable technical hindrance.
