Asking for password to get new emails. This is new. Not sure what my password was as I was never required to give it. How do I get a new one?

Please answer my question as indicated above. Email appears but will not allow me to get new emails. Was working fine yesterday. Is asking for my password. Not sure what it is as I was never required to give in in the past. If now required,, how to I set a new password?

Email passwords are administered with your email provider. Thunderbird has nothing to do with that.

That being said, Hotmail and all other Microsoft email account have been getting the POP protocol turned off and the user not being told. Log into your account directly at Hotmail and see if that is what happened to you.
